Rebuilding

Rarely do I post twice in one day but today it seems appropriate. The destruction in Oklahoma is astounding and before they can rebuild they will have a lot of cleaning up to do. There will be bricks to move, concrete to break up and general rubble to dispose of. People will be looking for things that are salvageable.

Are our hearts any different? When it is time to rebuild in Christ, we have to remove the junk of a life time of bad choices and hurts. We have to look through everything to find what is salvageable, what needs to be redeemed and what just needs to be thrown out.

Rebuilding after hurt and destruction takes time, courage and often tears.

My heart is heavy with the people in Oklahoma, but it is also heavy for all those who are rebuilding their lives. Today is a day of somber prayer and contemplation.
