I had an interesting conversation with Kathryn last night. She challenges me to be a better person, to grow in my walk with God and to become whole and free. Our conversation centered around choosing life.
In the midst of the junky things, it is hard to choose life. It is hard to wake up and face the world when your inner world is sad and hurting. A full day seems like too much to face, so, you have to take one moment or even one second at a time. For that moment you have to choose life instead of death, health instead of sickness, freedom instead of captivity.
Numbers 30:19-20 says, "This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to His voice and hold fast to Him."
Our task is now to make life-affirming choices.
