Yesterday after school I went to Amy's for a haircut. Her daughter has an abundant amount of energy. She wasn't still the whole time I was there. Then Amy and I were talking about what I would today and she suggested I talk about the importance of being still.
Scripture says to be still and know that HE is God. In this world, full of hustle, bustle and action, it is hard to be still. There is always noise and always something to do. It is difficult to find the time or the patience to be still AND quiet and know that HE is God. Oh, but when we do stop the busyness and rest listening for his still small voice it is a sweet, sweet time.
I know, I know, it is difficult to turn off the TV, get off the computer, turn off the music, stop doing every day stuff. It is hard to find time to get all the things we "need" to get done, done in any given day. However, it is necessary for believers to spend time with God every day, just being still.
