Just to be fair, this will be the topic of many upcoming blog posts because it is where I am at spiritually and all my thoughts are right there too.
We are called to be holy. And even though this is what every believer is called to, very few believers know what that even means. What is holiness?! It is simply being set apart for God and living in a way that you are trying to grow closer to him. We are holy through Christ but we must make conscious decisions and choices.
On our own, we are VASTLY unholy. We can always repent (true repentance includes turning away from actions that are unholy) from our unholiness. We must mirror Isaiah when brought face to face with God. We are unclean and we come from a land of people who are unclean. We must ask God to touch us and make us clean. We have seen a holy King and in him is our holiness.
My challenge for us all (myself included) is to consecrate ourselves afresh for the holiness Christ calls us to. It isn't always fun. It surely isn't always pretty. And the devil will always be on our backs if we are growing towards God. HOWEVER, it is SO SO SO worth it.
